SNV is a not-for-profit international development Organisation. Founded in the Netherlands nearly 50 years ago, we have built a long-term, local presence in 38 of the poorest countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Our global team of local and international advisors work with local partners to equip communities, businesses and Organisations with the tools, knowledge and connections they need to increase their incomes and gain access to basic services – empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and guide their own development. SNV started to operate in Ghana since 1992

SNV believes that inclusive growth and development are essential for lasting success. Sustained poverty reduction requires poor men and women to both contribute to and benefit from growth while having access to quality basic services. SNV concentrates its capacity development services in programs with demand driven change processes in Agriculture, Renewable Energy (including REDD+) and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, with the objective to improve the livelihoods of low income people.

SNV provides advisory services for solutions with local impact, and plays a role in knowledge networking and advocacy, building on linkages between local and international presence and expertise. To achieve impact at scale, SNV implements a programme approach with our local partners, built within a strategic framework of local and international priorities. We focus on systemic change and local ownership and provide contextualized solutions for development impact at scale.

Public and private funds are mobilized for program implementation, including costs of SNV staff and overhead.
