A fast growing and apolitical association urgently requires the services of a:- Programmes & Research
Officer

The position requires an individual with sound knowledge and experience in the challenges facing the Ghanaian media with a sound communications acumen and analysis.

Responsibilities
•   Designing activities to promote the Association’s objectives (i.e trainings, workshop, round table discussions, conferences, consultancies, study tours etc.)
•   Ability to draft funding proposals to the development partners is a prerequisite
•   Maintaining regular and frequent contacts with development partners and networking proactively.
•   Submission of regular and timely reports on activities and events to the Supervisor including postings to the association’s website
•   Planning and executing researches into technical issues, with a view to making pronouncement on such issues affecting independent broadcasters
•   Ensuring research into technical matter related to the development, growth and expansion of independent broadcasters
•   Conducting web searhes for document and information relevant to promoting knowledge acquisition and development of broadcasting
•   Assisting with preparation of research questionnaire
•   Proofreading and amending research data whenever necessary
•   Periodically prepare and analyze needs assessment of the associations members
•   Assist the preparation of presentations, manuscripts and other project-related documentation
•   Any other duty that the Executive Director may assign from time to time

Other Desirable Attributes
•   Knowledge in research methods will be an added advantage
•   Exceptional communication, quantitative and analytical skills
•   Excellent interpersonal skills
•   Strength in computer literacy is highly desirable
•   Must have a strong and pleasant personality
•   Ability to work to deadlines while maintaining a high professional work ethic
•   Excellent command of the English language (spoken & written)

Qualification Required & Experience
•   Should have a minimum of a first degree suitable for the above responsibilities preferably in Social Sciences, Economics or equivalent
