Role Summary/Purpose: Sr. Construction Project Manager must be capable of developing, scoping, planning, and safely executing major construction projects ranging in scope from $20 - $200 million as well as multiple smaller projects. The Project Manager will provide leadership and direction to the Project Leader as required. The role requires communication of ideas and requirements to all levels as well as great presentation skills.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop project requirements and define roles and responsibilities of project team
- Identify resources required at any stage of the project and assure qualified resources are brought on board at the most value
- Be the construction expert for our businesses and provide advice and counsel to them in development of their Growth Playbooks
- Manage project scope and control costs and schedule
- Manage change assure funds and time is accounted for in any required change request
- Assure approval of funds prior to implementing change orders
- Develop execution plans for the project optimizing GE value
- Leverage the marketplace as well as existing relationships to maximize value
- Develop and execute, with the support of Engineering team and Operations, team turnover plans to ensure closure of both defects commitments
- Assure GE receives a sustainable design and completed project
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Sciences, or Architecture
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience managing major building construction projects
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft suite of software
- Strong strategic planning skills
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Desired Characteristics:
- 10 years’ experience as an owners project manager on major construction projects
- Good working knowledge with Primavera
- PM certification from a recognized agency
