Role Summary/Purpose:     The Finance Manager for Measurement & Controls in Sub-Saharan Africa, will lead projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business. In this role, you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications. This role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within a functional area of expertise.
Essential Responsibilities:    
- Prepare and report weekly QMI, drive actions to improve convertibility performance, implement channel partner analysis & metrics, lead efforts around quarterly financial estimates &analysis

- Ensure the accuracy of the organization’s financial results while coordinating Quarterly Closing, and DR Reporting (Nigeria, Angola, Ghana, South Africa)

- Actively participate in business planning sessions and own the coordination, preparation, and consolidation of all key planning and reporting cycles

- Controllership oversight including account reconciliations reviews, balance sheet reviews and closure of all open items

- Oversee Global Ops Finance (Shared Service) performance and drive service level improvement and application of Enterprise Standards

- Work with Commercial & operational leaders on Accounts Receivable Past Due accounts and help to implement actions to drive reduction

- Partner with leadership team across three sub-businesses to analyze and consolidate estimates and use experience and trending to determine materiality of variances in the analysis and reporting process

- Work effectively with business leaders to proactively drive key business initiatives especially around HQ efforts for simplification and digitization

- Coordinate functional cost planning and analysis with M&C staff leadership team

- Proactively analyze cost structure and headcount, understand variances, and identify cost reduction ideas

- Special projects as required

Qualifications/Requirements:    
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 10 additional years of experience in a financial position

- PC proficiency , financial systems knowledge, skilled in Microsoft Office … Excel, Powerpoint
- Financial Management Program graduate or MBA
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex financial issues
- Extensive knowledge of GE business operations is preferred (GE Employees Only)
