Objective of the
programme:
DAI is preparing for an anticipated programme in Ghana
to establish economic and employment opportunities in communities affected by
the country’s growing oil industry. The project will be implemented in the oil
producing western Ghana
region and will focus on community dialogue and value chain development for
both traditional livelihood sectors and new market opportunities.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
• Deliver programme effectively and efficiently, working
closely with public and private sector actors involved in and affected by the Ghana
oil industry
• Develop and
implement the programme strategy, business plan and budget
• Oversee programme activities and provide quality control
of deliverables
• Liaise closely with donor counterparts to ensure client
satisfaction
• Manage team of long
and short-term experts
• Deliver key
programme reports and work plans
• Coordinate effectively with key stakeholders and partners
to ensure programme participation
• Ensure value for money and delivery of results
Requirements:
• Advanced degree in business administration or management,
economics or other relevant field
• At least 15 years of experience working in private sector
development, at least five of which focusing on market and SME development
• Strong
understanding of Local Content issues and Community Development Approaches
• Extensive experience and knowledge of working in Ghana or the
region
• Proven track-record of successfully delivering complex
multi-component donor-funded programmes, including major grant components
• Track-record of
creating linkages between donor programmes and the local business community
• Knowledge and understanding of the extractive industries
would be an advantage
• Strong team leadership, communication and management
experience
• Significant
networking and relationship management skills
• Understand key
approaches to M&E, including use of logical frameworks
