Organization Overview:
The International Economic Growth Division manages projects that are pioneering new approaches to agriculture, food security, climate change, and competitiveness—as well as monitoring and evaluating projects within these sectors. We work throughout Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East for chiefly governmental clients, including the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Minimum Qualifications:
BA with 6 - 8 years of experience OR MA/MBA with 3 years of experience OR PhD (Entry Level) OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify criteria for selection of innovative communications partners and interventions.
- Manage innovative communications interventions in the region that contribute to the overall objectives of trade hub development.
- Implement innovative communications tools and programs to build knowledge and awareness of trade hub developments (i.e. mobile, radio, etc.).
- Help inform local and regional policy directions to increase trade in selected value chains.
- Align communications strategies with trade hub priorities.
- Monitor and communicate results.
- Work closely with COP and other team members to develop targeted behaviour change strategies.
Skills Prerequisites:
- BA in media/communications with 6 - 8 years of experience OR MA/MBA in media/communications with 3 years of experience and 6-8 years experience of working in media and communications.
- Excellent written and spoken English and French.
- Expertise in new media, developing social platforms and incorporating communications technologies into development programmes.
- Ability to work across a number of cultures and countries in West Africa.
- Experience working in communications in West Africa.
- Experience working with regional economic communities such as ECOWAS and relevant associations.
- Ability to navigate politically complex relationships.
- Strong strategic mindset.
- Willingness to relocate to West Africa.
